Matilda Bay Alpha Pale Ale

Hoppy, fruity nose as soon as it's open spells good things to come.

Supposed to be 'american northwest style ale' - puts me in mind of IPA rather than an APA as such. Bitter, fruity, lovely! Malt is balanced too under all the bitterness, not too caramelised which is nice. Slight peppery finish means it's dry and drinkable.

Mouthfeel's full and satisfying. Again, bitter! Love it.

I'm less than impressed with some other Matilda Bay drops of late and also slightly miffed to have to put 'Vic' as the location for this one for what was once a homegrown WA brewer.

This has changed two opinions however.
1) I now like matilda bay again
2) I now want to go to the American northwest

Delicious.
